System has a new powerful data import/export mapping utility.

Red Wing, MN – March 12, 2008 – Red Wing Software, Inc. announces the release of Cow/Calf 4.0. The new version provides a total herd management system fully compatible with Microsoft® Windows Vista™. The enhancements provide flexibility in importing and exporting data, as well as, a new Red Angus Transfer Report.

Cow/Calf Version 4.0 can save hours of manual data entry with the new data import mapping utility. This new utility allows a user to map data from external TXT or CSV file formats to fields in the Cow/Calf program.

“The ability to define a custom export and import definition and import data from a number of other sources, such as, hand-held computers or electronic scales will save time,” says Jon Isackson, Red Wing Software Product Manager, “The system will import weight information, new animal records, calving data and EPD data, so producers don’t have to manually enter that data.”

A new data export was also added to the report writer option. This allows a producer to select cow, bull and calf information and create a TXT or CSV file, allowing other applications to access the data.

Additional updates include the New Red Angus Transfer Report. This new report provides information on animal ownership transfers. The report can be printed or exported to a PDF format which can be emailed directly to the Red Angus Association of America.
