Red Wing Software Releases TurningPoint 3.0
Released: 8/5/2004
Red Wing, MN – August 5, 2004 – Red Wing Software, Inc. released a new version update of TurningPoint, their premier, modular accounting software solution for small- to mid-sized businesses. TurningPoint Version 3.0, which was released on July 30th, enhances the user's flexibility within the system. Red Wing Software, Inc. has 25 years of experience developing accounting software solutions and providing support services to small- and mid-sized businesses.
According to Jon Isackson, Product Manager, “Version 3.0, was released with over two dozen enhancements. Our customers who have already updated are very pleased with the new user control. The added flexibility allows people to use the system in a variety of ways to more closely match their actual business practices; rather than allowing for only one method of operation. This results in more efficient Order Entry, Order Processing and Invoicing.”
Murray Kieffer, Director of Sales and Marketing, adds, “In TurningPoint 3.0, we chose to enhance the existing functionality to meet the needs of the TurningPoint customer base. Our customers also benefit from the strategic alliances that we've established to extend functionality even further with add-on applications like Point of Sale and CRM.”
TurningPoint 3.0 enhancements include an improved Invoice Entry process that allows the user to decide whether their business requires batch-mode processing, in which entries affect a customer's balance only after verification and approval of the invoices, or if a real-time situation is more suitable.
The Order Entry Fill process has new options making it even more flexible for specific business requirements. The user can now immediately print invoices as orders are filled, or choose to allow invoices to be amended with shipping charges and notes, and then reviewed prior to printing.
TurningPoint 3.0 will also export Patronage 1099 information to Red Wing's TaxForms software. This allows cooperative organizations to automatically generate 1099s for patronage, dividend, and interest payments.
“The addition of the export process for Patronage 1099 information is a huge advantage for our agribusiness customers. Our other product lines, Perception Accounting and AgCHEK, attract a wide range of agricultural producers; however, most agribusinesses, like grain elevators and farm equipment dealers, choose TurningPoint for the extensive inventory and order entry functionality,” according to Kieffer.
Security has also been extended beyond the company/menu level to the individual field level on key entry forms. For example, a user having security access to Inventory Setup can now add new inventory items on-the-fly during invoice entry. But, users without this level of security will not be able to access this feature.
Verification of General Ledger account balances in TurningPoint 3.0 is now more efficient with the addition of options to show the accounts affected by any previously entered transactions.
Red Wing Software, Inc., along with its nationwide network of business partners, offers industry-leading service, as well as training, on-site installation, implementation, and customization of the software.
