The CenterPoint Payroll support person before me wrote an API (I'm assuming it's an API) and I'm trying to find out where the code is located and how to change it.

When I'm in Setup > Employees > Detail > Custom Fields, if I enter a 1 in one of the fields, it will interface updated information with an external MS Access application.

Where can I find this code, how do I modify it, recompile it... Is there any documentation?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you right now. I'm going to ask around.

Does this update happen on the save of the employee? It could be that there's a background task that is polling the CenterPoint database directly.

I'm also going to check the forums to see if we had anybody asking how to do this.

Tony,

Thanks for the information and looking into this for me.

Yes, this happens when the Save button is clicked after entering the 1 in the custom field.

Please let me know if you find out any more.

Tony,

As an FYI, I checked Task Scheduler on our MSSQL server and don't see any tasks related to this. I also checked the database and don't see any triggers or anything else that might cause this to happen.

Please let me know if there's somewhere else to look.

Again, I appreciate your help with this.

I believe this was developed entirely outside of CenterPoint. It may have involved using our DLLs though, but it's hard to tell. Since it's outside of CenterPoint, there are a lot of different ways of approaching the problem.

My email is tonyc@redwingsoftware.com

Can you send me some details about your company, and maybe the name of the programmer(s) who did the original work?
