CenterPoint® Accounting for Agriculture - Performance Measures

Performance measures describe a unit value that is meaningful to you in understanding revenues and expenses associated with production. A performance measure can be thought of as a denominator in a calculation of dollars per some unit, for example; Dollars per Bushel, per Ton, per Acre, Acres from Profit Center Detail, Bushels from Profit Center Detail, etc. Performance measures can be set up using different sources, for example you can choose to set up a performance measure based on crop production detail (this information is based on new crop production and crop inventory adjustment transactions - ), transaction information based on a specific account(s), beginning, ending, or average account balance information, or factor information. Performance measures display at the top of the analysis in the segments that they apply to as a sum.

To setup a crop production detail performance measure:

  1. Select Reporting Tools > Production Analysis > Performance Measures.
  2. Click New.
  3. Under Performance Measure Information, in the Abbreviation box, enter an abbreviation that will help you easily identify the performance measure. For example, $/A for Dollars per Acre.
  4. In the Name box, enter the name for the performance measure, For example, Dollars per Acre.
  5. In the Source box, select Crop Production Detail Information.
  6. In the Displayed Decimals box, set the number of decimal places (0-8) that should display in the production analysis columns from performance measures.
  7. In the Data Type box, select Quantity 1 (Actual), Quantity 2 (Actual), Quantity 1 (Budget), Quantity 2 (Budget), Acres, Owners Acres, Operator Acres to represent the type of data used in calculating the performance measure value (denominator). If you do not see Acres in the Data Type list, you can select the size; Acres or Hectors in File > Preferences > Crop Settings > General in the Size Label Display box select either Acres or Hectors.
  • The Owners Acres data type shows the Owners share of the total Acres associated with one or more Crop Production Center Details, i.e. If a Crop Production Center Detail is configured with a Lease that’s setup with a 75/25 Owner/Operator split and there were 100 Acres total; the Owners Acres Data Type would return 75 Acres.
  • The Operators Acres data type shows the Operators share of the total Acres associated with one or more Crop Production Center Details, i.e. If a Crop Production Center Detail is configured with a Lease that’s setup with a 75/25 Owner/Operator split and there were 100 Acres total; the Operators Acres Data Type would return 25 Acres.
