New CenterPoint Version 10 installations will install Microsoft SQL Server® 2014 Express which is not compatible with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. For new CenterPoint installations using the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, please review the scenarios below to determine which applies to you.

Existing CenterPoint Installation

If you have an existing CenterPoint installation and you update to CenterPoint Version 10, SQL Server 2008 Express is already installed and will continue to work with CenterPoint. You can continue using CenterPoint on this computer, please do not continue with this document.

Computer that does not Store CenterPoint Data

If the Microsoft Windows Vista computer you want to install CenterPoint Version 10 on is a computer that does not store the CenterPoint data (the CenterPoint data is stored on a different computer), the message below will display (your message may include a different CenterPoint product name). Click OK to continue the CenterPoint installation. You can continue using CenterPoint on this workstation, please do not continue with this document.

Computer that Stores CenterPoint Data

If the Microsoft Windows Vista computer you want to install CenterPoint Version 10 on is a computer that stores the CenterPoint data and is a new installation of CenterPoint (it has never been installed on this computer before), follow the instructions below:

From a web browser, enter www.redwingsoftware.com.

Select Menu, select your CenterPoint product, and then select Downloads.

Note: If you previously visited this page and installed CenterPoint Version 10.0 or installed CenterPoint Version 10 from a CD, it must first be uninstalled before continuing with the following instructions. You can verify the version of an existing CenterPoint installation by opening CenterPoint and selecting Help > About.

Select CenterPoint Version 9.40.
Click Download Now and follow the on-screen instructions or click the link for the installation instructions, and complete the CenterPoint 9.40 installation.

Open CenterPoint Version 9.40.
Select Help > Online Updates > Check for CenterPoint Updates.
Click Install Updates.
When the download and installation are complete, click Launch CenterPoint.
When the update is complete, open CenterPoint Version 10.

Move CenterPoint Data from Computer to Computer

Moving Data from a Microsoft Windows 7, 8 or 10 Computer to a Microsoft Windows Vista Computer: To ensure all computers you plan to move data between are using the same version of SQL Server, follow the steps in the Computer that Stores CenterPoint Data section above before updating or creating data on a computer that has a later operating system (Microsoft Windows 7, 8 or 10 using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express).
