Depreciation Module
- Processes > Depreciation
- Asset Entry
- Federal SDA (Bonus Depreciation) now expenses 100% of the cost of qualified property acquired between January 20, 2025, and December 31, 2029.
- Note: If you elected to take SDA for assets placed in service after 1/19/25 prior to installing the 20.4 update, select Processes > Depreciation > Asset Entry > Schedules tab and uncheck the SDA box, tab off of the SDA box, and recheck the SDA box to display the 100% SDA for 1/20/25 - 12/31/25.
- The Property Class New/Used, MACRS, and ADS Years can now be modified for assets entered with state schedules for Equipment Business, Equipment Farm and Equipment Office.
- Asset Entry and Asset Entry - Previous Years - The Name field has been extended from 30 to 50 characters.
- Compliance Validation - The Consistent SDA validation now includes only New Asset Acquisition types and excludes assets bought and sold in the same year.
- 2025 Section 179 Limits - Changed Section 179 property limits for tax years beginning in 2025; taxpayers can expense up to $2,500,000. This dollar limit is reduced when Section 179 property placed in service during the year exceeds $4,000,000.
- 2025 Luxury Auto Limitations - Updated limits for vehicles placed in service in 2025.
- Fixes
- Reports > Reports > Fixed Assets > Fixed Asset Listing - With Display Trades set to No, the report now prints only non-traded assets.
