Course Description
Whether you are a brand new Red Wing Software customer or you are transferring data from another RWS product, you will learn how to setup CenterPoint to maximize the value of the information you retrieve. You will learn how to customize CP to fit your business’s individual needs through preferences and other customization features.
- General Ledger/Financial Tracking
- Discuss how transactions affect the financial reports and inventory, so you have a better understanding of how the modules work together (including the review of real-time vs batch transactions). Learn how to setup and customize the financial tracking portion of the software, enter various types of general journal entries and create financial reports that will help you make solid financial decisions.
- Accounts Payable/Purchases
- This comprehensive course will walk you through entering all types of accounts payable transactions. The check writing process will be covered in detail. Also review how credit card purchases can be tracked and paid in Accounts Payable. Discuss the most commonly used A/P reports, including the vendor ledger and aging report.
- Accounts Receivable/Sales
- Review the proper procedures for setup and customizing the Accounts Receivable module. Review the various ways sales and customer payments can be entered into the system, including short-cuts to make your day more efficient. Customer deposits, over payments and prepayments will be discussed in depth. You will learn how to calculate finance charges and produce customer billing statements. Review the most commonly used reports in A/R.
- General Processes
- Learn how to use report drill downs and Transaction Search to quickly & easily find previously entered transactions. Review how to efficiently make corrections to existing transactions, reprint invoices & checks, or void unneeded transactions. Learn how to customize reports that include the information needed for your specific business. In this session you’ll also learn how to effectively analyze the profitability of your operation using budgets, bank reconciliation and financial analysis.
- Purchase Orders
- Learn how to customize the module and enter purchase orders manually, or have the system analyze your inventory needs and create purchase orders for you. Discuss how purchase order transactions affect inventory, accounts payable and financial reports.
- Sales Orders
- The proper procedures for setup , entering quotes and orders and filling orders will be covered in detail. Review how the module can be customized for your business needs. Also learn how sales orders affect inventory, accounts receivable and financial reports.
- Inventory
- Learn the ins and outs of your inventory software. Time will be spent discussing the setup of various types of inventory items and locations. Learn how to properly enter adjustments and transfers and conduct a physical inventory. Review the various reports available for inventory tracking and analysis.
Note: For those of you who have not set up your company in CenterPoint prior to attending the class, we recommend that you view the Introduction to CenterPoint online training video, which includes information on starting a new database, as this will not be covered during the classroom training.
